Cathy, the comic character created by Cathy Guisewite, was proposed to by Irving her long-time boyfriend. Cathy's proposal was the SAME day as the day Scott proposed to me. Thus I am following along with her as she goes through the planning stages. Recent strips have mostly been about the closer relationship with Irving and tax and money issues. The planning seems to have slowed down. I think Cathy's engagement to Irving will last longer than mine if compared to her aging cycle. Basically Cathy has been a career woman in the dating scene since the 1980's. I expect the engagement to drag out like the rest of her life has thus far.

I am not able to repost the comic strip online though I have been collecting the comic strip since the Sunday after Valentine's day. I have not been able to read the actual proposal. I would love to get a copy of the Austin American Statesman from February 13 and 14th, 2004 to complete my collection. I have saved every wedding related comic since February 15, 2004.
